La serie, dirigida por su creador y productor ejecutivo Chris Carter y protagonizada por David Duchovny y Gillian Anderson como los legendarios agentes del FBI Fox Mulder y Dana Scully se convirtió en un éxito mundial, y vuelve por más de la mano de su elenco original. FOX celebra su estreno en América Latina con un episodio doble.

“THE X-FILES” sigue los pasos de los agentes especiales del FBI Scully (Anderson) y Mulder (Duchovny) quienes investigan casos inexplicables, donde la única respuesta posible pareciera involucrar fenómenos paranormales. También regresa Mitch Pileggi como Walter Skinner, Director Adjunto del FBI, quien transita una delgada línea entre la lealtad a Mulder y Scully y la rendición de cuentas a sus superiores.

Compuesta por seis episodios de una hora, la nueva entrega combina episodios independientes que mantienen la esencia de la serie original. En el primer episodio doble, Mulder y Scully tomarán el caso de una posible abducción extraterrestre.

“THE X-FILES” cuenta con la participación de Joel McHale (“Community”), Robbie Amell (“The Flash”), Lauren Ambrose (“Dig”), Annabeth Gish (“El Puente”), Annet Mahendru (“The Americans”), Rhys Darby (“Flight of the Conchords”), Kumail Nanjiani (“Silicon Valley) y William B Davis, quien retoma su papel de “El Fumador”. Tres de los episodios fueron escritos y dirigidos por Chris Carter, mientras los restantes fueron escritos y dirigidos por los veteranos de la serie original Glen Morgan, Darin Morgan y James Wong.

Estrenada en 1993 y compuesta por nueve temporadas, “THE X-FILES” logró consolidarse como la serie favorita del género de ciencia ficción y un fenómeno televisivo a nivel mundial con dieciséis Premios Emmy®, cinco Premios Golden Globe® y un Premio Peabody.
